Engineer – VDD
Role Overview
Responsible for development, validation, and cost management of Bought-Out Parts (BOP) by ensuring supplier capability, APQP/PPAP compliance, and smooth handover to plant procurement. The role works closely with Quality, Purchasing, and suppliers to support new product development and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Support QM auditor during system audits at new supplier locations
• Perform VDD activities and audits conducted by QS, customers, or external audit agencies
• Ensure systematic handover of developed parts to plant purchasing for serial BOP procurement
• Monitor BOP development activities using BOP trackers in line with APQP / PPAP processes
• Prepare and analyze BOP cost impact for customer RFQs
• Organize weekly supplier review meetings to address issues and build a dedicated supplier base
• Develop BOPs across categories such as plastics, sheet metal, rubber, machined parts, terminals & holders, and wiring harnesses
• Control and initiate change management at supplier end
• Participate in ECR / DCR activities as required

• BOP costing and commercial understanding
• Supplier audit and development processes
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing and supplier ecosystems
• Strong coordination and communication skills
