Assistant Manager – ToolRoom

Role Overview

Responsible for planning, development, and management of tooling activities to support new product development and manufacturing. The role includes tool design inputs, mould maintenance oversight, and coordination with internal and external toolrooms to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-compliant tooling solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review product designs and provide tool design and mould concept inputs

• Plan and procure tool materials, mouldbases, and spares

• Manage tooling projects, including in-house and outsourced tool development

• Oversee mouldmaintenance, repair, and modification activities to ensure tool life and performance

• Coordinate with external toolrooms for tool development, trials, maintenance, and modifications

• Conduct tooling trials and support fixture and gauge development

• Support PMs and RFQ activities with tooling inputs such as cost, timelines, resource planning, and cavity decisions

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and reduce tool development and maintenance lead time

• Participate in CFT meetings to review product development, tooling, and design progress

• Support customer requirements and ensure timely delivery and readiness of tooling

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Toolroom software and systems knowledge

• Product and process understanding

• Advanced machining technologies

• Tooling and mould materials, accessories, surface treatments, and maintenance practices

• Strong coordination and project management skills


Qualification: DPMT / PDPMT / B.Tech Mechanical  • Experience: 10–15 years
